We all want to age gracefully, but that doesn’t mean we have to surrender to unwanted imperfections and flaws. Soft tissue injectables, our facial and dermal fillers can act as an excellent alternative to surgical procedures, working to fill large lines and wrinkles, restore volume to the face and add structure. Depending on the type of filler and the depth at which it is injected, Dr. Few and his staff can smooth out fine lines on the surface of the skin, fill in deep lines, augment soft tissues (such as the lips), or augment facial bone structure (such as the jawline).

FDA-approved fillers

Restylane, Restylane Silk, Restylane Lyft, Voluma, and Juvéderm facial fillers, are made from hyaluronic acid and are non-permanent, FDA-approved dermal fillers. They are safe to use when injected by experienced clinicians and under MD supervision. These fillers restore volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, including laugh lines, marionette lines, jowls and lips. They can also be used to fill acne scars.

These fillers are composed of non-animal based stabilized hyaluronic acid, therefore, do not require any allergy testing prior to injection. Results from our Chicago facial fillers last between 6 months to 1 year, depending on the product used and the area of the face injected. Because fillers are placed by injection, they carry risks of bruising, lumpiness, redness, product-specific adverse reactions, and in rare cases local infections.

Autologous fat

Fat injection, or fat grafting, is a technique that uses your own fat to augment another area of the body, including the face and the buttocks. Fat is one of the most well-tolerated fillers available in the aesthetic field.

Not only is it safe, but it also provides a natural-looking, permanent result. Fat has been proven an effective filler for body contouring, depressed scars, irregularities from liposuction, and re-volumizing the hands and mid-face.

Your Injectable Experience

Pre-injection

You will receive a topical anesthetic or ice pack to numb the area where the injections will be given. Some facial fillers have a numbing medicine mixed in with them.

Injection

Dr. Few or his nurses inject filler under the skin. Our Chicago facial filler treatment session typically takes 15 minutes or more. After a filler injection, expect some mild discomfort, redness and swelling at the injection site. Swelling is typically minor in nature and does not interfere with normal social activity.

Post-injection

Injectable treatments require little downtime, although you may experience bruising or other minor local side effects from the injection. Expect to resume your normal daily activities right after your facial fillers procedure.

Taking The Next Step

If you have decided that treatment with dermal fillers might be appropriate for your cosmetic goals, then please contact our TFI offices in Chicago today to set up your private consultation for dermal fillers in Chicago, with Dr. Julius Few.

During this initial session, the doctor will examine your face, asking questions to clarify exactly what changes you are seeking in your appearance. He will review your medical and surgical records, creating a personalized plan of action for improving your appearance and helping to reverse the signs of aging. Dr. Few will provide you with before and after photos for the various dermal and facial filler results, so you can get the most accurate impression possible of what to expect.

Dermal fillers are often used in tandem with other facial rejuvenation procedures such as ultherapy, skin resurfacing and chemical peels, so Dr. Few can discuss these options with you in detail during your consultation. Combining procedures can often reduce downtime as well as costs.
